THU
WORSHIP

At St. Paul's, we offer three different worship services each weekend.

  • The Saturday Alternative Worship service begins every Saturday at 5:00 P.M. The service is casual and the music is contemporary. Children's Church is offered during the sermon time for preschool and elementary age kids. After the worship service, all are invited to stay to share in a dinner together.
  • The Sunday Contemporary Worship service begins at 8:15 A.M. This service is perfect for early risers and those who want to worship with a small, friendly group of people.
  • The Sunday Modern/Traditional Worship service begins at 10:45 A.M. This service is primarily traditional with modern elements. Children's Church is offered during the sermon time for preschool and elementary age kids.

No matter which worship service you attend, you will be welcomed but not embarrassed.

Many people ask about Holy Communion (also known as "the Lord's Supper" and "Eucharist") as well as Christian Baptism, so here are the basics...

  • We accept Baptism from any Christian tradition, so we do not demand that someone be baptized "again" to be part of this church--we believe God's grace is still in effect in that person's life.
  • We also believe that all persons, of any "age or stage" in life, are candidates for baptism--including the very old, the very young, or persons with various challenges.
  • This spirit of openness extends to Communion, too--meaning that a person does not have to be a member of this or any other Methodist church in order to come forward and receive the bread and wine.  In fact, we believe that a person who has not yet committed themselves to Christ might come forward for the Lord's Supper and in that way offer themselves to God
  • All of these beliefs are anchored in a profound trust in the goodness and grace of a loving God who "is able to do far more than we can think or ask" (Ephesians 3:20).
  • Our pastor would gladly discuss these important and meaningful rituals with you.

Finally, a word about our worship "space" at St. Paul's is in order...

  • Upon entering the church, most people notice the wide open "airy" feeling of the place which is meant to convey a spirit of welcome.
  • The layout is simple, a way of saying that approaching God need not be complicated or difficult.
  • We think the design is both modern and ancient--on the one hand, many churches centuries ago were built without elaborate details;  but on the other hand, St. Paul's was one of the first churches to build "projection technology" (with screen and video equipment) into the facility.
  • People from all sorts of church backgrounds have commented on the way our worship space puts them at ease and helps them focus on and worship God.  And that's great--because that's really why any church is ever built!
