What We Believe

Our discipleship pathway.

WorshipDeeply devoted disciples of Christ know God and gather to praise God in a community of faith.  Through worship we move from the question of doubt to a life of faith able to profess what we believe.  In worship there is opportunity to learn and to testify to our faith.  Worship is for God, and we are all participants.  It is an act of praise and gratitude for God’s work in us, and it is learning to be obedient to the teachings of Christ.  We have three distinct worship services for people to connect with God and others in the community of faith.

DiscipleshipGrowing in discipleship requires that we move from a surface faith that we have as new believers to a point where we are so fully submitted to Christ that it is the most important thing in our life.  We strive to become 3D Christians (deeply devoted disciples of Christ).  Many opportunities are available for us to be ongoing learners and to move us away from stagnating in our faith.  There are Bible study and Christian education classes, as well as spiritual formation groups, accountability groups, a strong Emmaus community, which moves people toward the role of teacher and mentor in the faith.

MissionDeeply devoted disciples of Christ serve others.  We are a community partner, and work with local agencies to provide the human and financial resources necessary to meet the needs of people in our community.  Our faith is lived through organizations that feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and house the homeless.  We will celebrate the work already done through these agencies.  Our service comes not from a goodness in ourselves, but from a gratitude for what has been given us.

OutreachDeeply devoted disciples of Christ reach new people for Christ.  The goal of every church and every Christian is to bring people to Christ.  We will encourage our members to share their faith and to do all in their power with God’s help to win people for Christ.  Our decision-making and planning will be to bring new people to faith.

Future PlanningAs a congregation we are committed to the future that God is calling us.  We will courageously step out in faith knowing that God will provide the vision for our future, as well as the financial and physical resources.

Where there is no vision from God, the people run wild, but those who adhere to God’s instruction know genuine happiness.  Proverbs 29:18 (VOICE)
